The Vestal Fire District is a political subdivision of the State of New York, encompassing approximately 53 square miles within the boundaries of the Town of Vestal. The Fire District operates under the governance of the Board of Fire Commissioners.
Our organization consists of three interconnected entities: the Fire District, the Fire Department, and the Fire Companies.

Fire District Annual Election Notice
The
Annual Election of the Vestal Fire District will be Tuesday, December 9, 2025,
between 6 and 9 p.m. at Station 3, 2164 Owego Road, Vestal.
Voters
will elect five Fire Commissioners:
Voters
will also be asked to approve the possible sale of Tower 1, a 2002 elevated
platform/aerial ladder truck that was recently replaced. Voter approval of this possible sale
is needed because the sale price of the truck may exceed $100,000.
To
be eligible to vote, residents must be registered with the Broome County Board
of Elections on or before November 17, 2025, and must have resided within the
Fire District for at least 30 days, on or before November 10, 2025, preceding
the election.
Candidates
for Fire Commissioner may obtain petitions from the District Secretary at the
Fire District Office, 1136 Front Street, Vestal between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Monday through Friday. Completed petitions must be filed with the District
Secretary no later than Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 5:00 p.m.
Please
note that no absentee ballots will be accepted for this election.
